Schools Star has been designed and created in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Government to form part of the solution, promoting collaboration amongst public and private sectors, with one shared goal of economic success and better prospects for our youth.

Schools Star recognises and promotes Grade 12s with the most potential from across the Province and boosts their learning and employment prospects.

What is Schools Star?

Schools Star, in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Government is the only Provincial Programme in South Africa to reach ALL schools, especially the most
marginalized, and give all matriculants the opportunity to enter, be recognized and win bursary and social support to propel them into tertiary education.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Income Limit: To qualify for the bursary, it's important to note that the combined annual income of Grade 12 learners' parents should not exceed R800,000.
  2. Year of Enrollment: Please understand that only learners who will be matriculating in Gauteng in 2024 qualify to enter.
  3. Required Documents: Please note that learners registering with Schools Star must have a valid South African ID to qualify.
